This painting was my entry into the American Art in Miniature show 2004 at the Gilcrease Museum in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The reddish color in the oak tree was a result of a late frost and the new growth on the tree was stunted and had not yet leafed back out. I liked the contrast with the brighter green tree that escaped the frost. This scene was from a location on private property between Fredericksburg and Llano, Texas
